PATCHWORK
Using modern machines and
techniques we no longer have to cut out hundreds of paper templates or
baste for miles before quilting, we have never had it so easy!
There are a variety of tools
and materials available to the modern Patch-worker and they are all designed
to make the basic skills needed for well matched blocks both easier and
quicker, come and try some of ours, for example: the rotary cutter for
accurate lines and angles makes the matching of seams and points easier.
Use a Walking Foot when quilting
the three layers will help to avoid wrinkles when channel sewing or you
could try out the Stippling Foot for free motion quilting.
Our block of the month sessions
would be an ideal course for those who have never tried piecing or quilting
on a sewing machine and we have one-day workshops for those who like a
bit more of a challenge.
EASY DRESDON PLATE
It is a lot quicker and easier
to use the rotary cutter for all of those petals! Learn the technique
then make your own version for a panel or a quilt.
STAINED GLASS DOVE
Make a beautiful ‘Stained
Glass' effect picture using bonded pieces and tubular bias binding.
SIMPLE FOUNDATION PIERCING
Create a lovely personalized
version of the traditional Christmas stocking.
LOG CABIN ON POINT
These logs are set on a point
and used as a shelf edging for Christmas but you can turn them into a
wall hanging or anything else that takes your fancy.
